Swim Class Levels

“Make a Splash” (5-16 Months)

Parent Participation Required. Parent and Instructor introduce child to water safety & basic swimming skills which include: Bubbling, submersion, getting in and out of the pool & floating. Kicking and reaching exercises are included. Reusable, or diapers made specifically for swimming are required for children 3 & under even if they are “Potty Trained”.

Beginners

An introduction to basic water skills. Other skills include: Entering the water correctly, turning around and getting to the side. Strong emphasis on learning how to swim.

Beginners Plus

Child must be comfortable in the water and be able to swim several feet by themselves. Child masters jumping in, turning around and reaching for the side of the pool. Learning when to take a breath and swimming to the surface are introduced at this level.

Advanced Beginners

Child must be able to swim 8-10 feet unassisted. Focus is on learning to take breaths. Diving and treading water are introduced at this level. Students completing this level are eligible to join our Swim Team!

Intermediate

At this level, child can now swim 25 feet. Focus is placed on endurance & stamina while swimming. In addition the backstroke is introduced. Students completing this level are eligible to join our Swim Team!

Advanced Intermediate

Swimmer can successfully swim 35 – 40 feet. Side breathing is introduced at this level. We work on freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke. Water survival skills are taught. Students completing this level are eligible to join our Swim Team!

Stroke

Must have attended the above class or requires an instructor recommendation. Butterfly is introduced at his level. Students completing this level are eligible to join our Swim Team!

Intro to Swim Team

Swim Team Bound or serious swimmers. Involves critiquing & fine-tuning strokes. Timed laps in preparation for meets. Students completing this level are eligible to join our Swim Team!
